Alot of people can shoot a 8 inch group att 300 yards with a 10/22 with red dot and open sights so I don't understand why you are struggling with that giant scope

The dense bush in Rhodesia the shotgun was employed to clear out brush with the Rhodesian Jungle round. Farmers have used shotgun for the protection of livestock. I could go on and on. You get the point.

So what you should do, is gently install the lapping rod & bases loosely slowly tighten them & THEN remove the lapping rod , you will find an almost perfect alignment, then & only then do you lap the mounts , install the scope prior to removing the mounts to insure they stay in the same spot, also the crosshairs don't need to be perfectly level, just use your eyes, using a level may actually be crooked to your eyes, the center will always be the center

Shotguns can be amazing! The biggest weakness is range. Well for “home defense” range isn’t much of an issue. I can think of very few realistic instances where you are “defending yourself” by putting rounds down range at 200 yards. Good luck explaining that in court.

Given the circumstances and conditions. I feel very confident that my Anderson is good to go. I have had this gun for about 3 years and while it is not full auto, it serves the purpose and I can make it go as fast as my finger will allow. Not to mention that it is pretty accurate. 5 rounds in the same hole at 100yds. totally worth the money and would buy again.
